On September 10, 2026, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering held its 2026 Teachers' Day celebration. Prof. Cong Feng, founder of Guangzhou Qianxun Biotechnology Co., Ltd. and new faculty member of the College of Animal Science and Technology, spoke at the ceremony as a representative of new faculty.
Prof. Cong Feng, under the title "A Century of Zhongkai, Henceforth Related to Me," shared his experience of moving from the frontline of corporate R&D to the university podium. He said that from the day he stepped onto campus, the school's meticulous guidance, the help and liaison from laboratory teachers, and the mentoring of the teaching team quickly gave a new faculty member a sense of belonging.
Writing "A Century of Zhongkai" into His Latter Half of Life
In just over seven months, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering will celebrate its centenary. In 1927, Ms. He Xiangning founded this school to commemorate Mr. Liao Zhongkai; in 2027, the school will have walked a full century. Prof. Cong Feng said that being able to join, witness and participate in her at this key node on her way to a century is a great fortune for this batch of new faculty, and an even heavier responsibility.
"I know that the vast majority of us are ordinary teachers, without earth-shattering achievements or renowned fame. But the podium makes no distinction between big and small—only between serious and not serious," he said. Only after stepping onto the podium did he truly feel the weight of the two characters "teacher"—half scholarship, half responsibility.
Making Two Commitments on Behalf of All New Faculty
At the beginning of the new academic year, Prof. Cong Feng made two commitments to the university on behalf of all new faculty:
First, teach well. Polish every class as if it were the first, worthy of every pair of knowledge-seeking eyes under the podium.
Second, do scholarship well. Write papers in the fields and villages, deliver results to the production frontline, and use actions to inherit the century-old school motto of "emphasizing practice and assisting farmers and workers."
At the end of his speech, he sincerely wished a century-old Zhongkai vitality and renewed splendor, and wished all teachers a happy holiday and happy families.

Cong Feng is a researcher at the College of Animal Science and Technology, Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Engineering, founder of Guangzhou Qianxun Biotechnology Co., Ltd., a National Advanced Worker and principal investigator of a National Key R&D Program project. He has long been engaged in research on animal disease diagnosis and vaccine development. Over the past five years, his team has led more than 20 scientific research projects including the National Science and Technology Support Program, cumulatively applying for 49 invention patents (24 authorized) and publishing more than 20 SCI papers.
